Sweetest Spring / Re~Vintage

Elva Fields

When a long-standing customer contacted me recently about acquiring a portion of her beloved Elva Fields necklace collection, she explained that she was planning to retire to the UK and that life had shifted a bit, meaning she didn't have the same opportunities to wear and enjoy her necklaces as she once had and that downsizing meant they couldn't all come along for the fun.

Though I'm sad not to continue contributing to her wonderful collection, I'm excited for what's ahead for her. Additionally, I was thrilled to have a chance to see some of these designs again after they originally shipped from the studio over the last decade, most between 2015 and 2016. Some of these necklaces arrived back in my new studio in pristine condition with their original tags attached, others have been refreshed with a cleaning, a re-stringing, or an updating of a loose clasp and dull beads, and still others have been entirely reconsidered, swapping out beads or changing the arrangement of the vintage element to reflect a more updated style. They're each now ready for a new adventure and a chance to be worn, enjoyed, and loved.

Originally part of our Late Spring Collection in 2016, this gem still had its original hand-written tag from nearly a decade ago attached to its clasp. (As our client shared honestly, a major life event had happened and "leaving the house, let alone wearing gorgeous gems" just wasn't happening at the time. Now proudly on the other side of it all, she felt ready to share this one with another Elva gal.)

Though in wonderful unworn condition, the beads' pink hue has faded significantly since they were strung all that time ago, becoming shades of pale yellow, lightest pink, soft peach, and nearly white. I loved the original pink, but this softening and fading is just as lovely, and the quartz beads are a perfect pale pastel setting for the vintage silvertone metal flower brooch blooming at their side. Fastened at back by a silvered copper hook clasp, this beauty measures 18" in length.
