Worthy of Admiration
Elva Fields
Much like you, this design is deeply worthy of admiration for its joyful vibrance and unmistakable one-of-a-kind style. Five strands of some of our all-time favorite vintage beads ever that have become increasingly difficult (read: nearly impossible) to find make this one a true rarity and treasure. Called snake vertebrae for their zig-zag shape that nestles one inside the next, these beads - typically crafted in Czechoslovakia over 100 years ago - were traded throughout the west coast of Africa and here show up in a fun mix of pink, blue, white, and yellow. It's quite the setting for a possibly-even-more-impressive (!?) vintage brooch that blooms at the beaded strands' side. Measuring a statement-making 4", this rhinestone bouquet of blossoms glitters marvelously among all that pattern and color, and a silver-over-copper hook clasps the necklace at an ultra-flattering length of 22" at its shortest strand.
