Though the business had humble beginnings in the corner of a guest room, Elva Fields now calls Louisville, Kentucky its home, having moved into a cozy studio in the heart of Crescent Hill along historic Frankfort Avenue. Once the offices of treasured Hawley-Cooke Booksellers, books have been replaced by beads, and the space is the most cheerful mix of vintage and neighborhood charm. Interestingly and fittingly, the Cooke founder of the original bookstore hails from the same Cooke lineage as Elva Fields Bivens Cooke, for whom this jewelry business is named, so family history is never far away…even serendipitously.
