On a bead-buying adventure this summer, we stumbled upon strands of carved date wood beads from India and fell head over heels. The hand-carved floral designs showed such craftsmanship and detail that we couldn't leave them behind, and we knew they'd need very little adornment to make them complete. Here, with the addition of a simple etched goldtone vintage chain, we created three necklaces in one--each meant to fall just within the next--at graduated lengths of 25, 28, and 30.5 inches. With just a faceted gilt brass bead between each, the wooden wonders are simply stunning, and you can wear as many or as few as you'd like for beautiful effect.
