Never has there been a more Louisville look - and it was purely by happenstance! We discovered this likely-1930s enamel and rhinestone horse head brooch at a favorite flea market over the summer, knowing it would be cherished by one of our many equestrian-style-loving ladies here in the Bluegrass and beyond. Taking a cue from its black enamel bridle and red rhinestone eye, we spotted these handmade African glass beads and thought they'd make a nice accompaniment. When the design was complete, we realized we combined team colors from the University of Louisville (shout out to all the Cards fans in town!) AND a nod to Derby with the subtly shimmering horse at front center. The only thing more Louisville would be to dip this necklace in bourbon. (But how 'bout we just toast the necklace with it?) Clasped with a glass and silvered copper beauty at back, the necklace measures 18" length.
