Elva Fields

When a long-standing customer contacted me recently about acquiring a portion of her beloved Elva Fields necklace collection, she explained that she was planning to retire to the UK and that life had shifted a bit, meaning she didn't have the same opportunities to wear and enjoy her necklaces as she once had and that downsizing meant they couldn't all come along for the fun.

Though I'm sad not to continue contributing to her wonderful collection, I'm excited for what's ahead for her. Additionally, I was thrilled to have a chance to see some of these designs again after they originally shipped from the studio over the last decade, most between 2015 and 2016. Some of these necklaces arrived back in my new studio in pristine condition with their original tags attached, others have been refreshed with a cleaning, a re-stringing, or an updating of a loose clasp and dull beads, and still others have been entirely reconsidered, swapping out beads or changing the arrangement of the vintage element to reflect a more updated style. They're each now ready for a new adventure and a chance to be worn, enjoyed, and loved.

Originally part of our Summer Collection in 2016, this is a necklace I decided to reconsider a bit upon its second stint in the studio. The sodalite beads are of wonderful quality and stunning with their blue and white speckled pattern, but I decided three strands was just the right setting for the vintage enamel flower brooch at their side. So, one strand of the beads was removed to allow for a more wearable scale and style. The bloom is such a fun find - in turquoise, yellow, and cobalt blue, its colorful petals and spiky center have so much character and charm, and the patterned beads only add to the charisma. The updated clasp is a gold-over-copper hook that fastens at back.  Necklace measures just over 20" length overall.
