Beauty As She Is / Re~Vintage
Elva Fields
When a long-standing customer contacted me recently about acquiring a portion of her beloved Elva Fields necklace collection, she explained that she was planning to retire to the UK and that life had shifted a bit, meaning she didn't have the same opportunities to wear and enjoy her necklaces as she once had and that downsizing meant they couldn't all come along for the fun.
Though I'm sad not to continue contributing to her wonderful collection, I'm excited for what's ahead for her. Additionally, I was thrilled to have a chance to see some of these designs again after they originally shipped from the studio over the last decade, most between 2015 and 2016. Some of these necklaces arrived back in my new studio in pristine condition with their original tags attached, others have been refreshed with a cleaning, a re-stringing, or an updating of a loose clasp and dull beads, and still others have been entirely reconsidered, swapping out beads or changing the arrangement of the vintage element to reflect a more updated style. They're each now ready for a new adventure and a chance to be worn, enjoyed, and loved.

From our Summer Collection of 2017, this gem is a favorite. I love the effortless beauty of these beads, known as "leftover" beads in their native Ghana because they are created from melted-down broken bits, scraps, and unwanted glass beads from previous projects. Their pattern becomes a happy, haphazard jumble, and, in their new iterations, they are even more beautiful than before.
I've re-strung the three strands of these glass works of art with small clear glass beads throughout to improve the fluidity of their longer drape without interrupting their pattern effect, and everything has been refreshed with a light cleaning as well so that the vintage rhinestone flower brooch at the side sparkles even more. Together with the beads, the design becomes ecclectically stylish, wholly fun. A vintage "bumble bee" clasp in silvertone metal is adjustable at back, allowing lengths ranging from 23" to 24.5" overall.
