Life gives us opportunities to grow, and that includes our heart. We couldn't help but think of loving expansion when we spotted this vintage brooch at auction, its ribbed design like a heart growing incrementally, ever radiating outward. Colorful striped beads seemed a fitting companion for the open-heart brooch-become-pendant, and these beauties from Nepal were made by hand in a traditional chevron style with their revealing facets. A 14 karat gold-over-copper toggle clasps the necklace at a longer flattering length of 20" overall. (Heart measures 3" width.)
