Growth and grit - two gifts I'm often reluctant to receive in life because they so rarely come without pain, struggle, and challenge. Yet, two gifts without which I likely could not navigate most of what life brings my way. A gilt brass leaf represents growth, while the pearl shows the beauty that comes as a result of grit, its miraculous transformation through agitation in an oyster shell. Both charms suspend side by side as a reminder of what is required in difficult times, yet also of what wonderful things are possible and present as we make our way through them. On a gilt brass ball-bead chain, each necklace measures approximately 17-18" length.
