Just Keep Swimming

An encouraging reminder in the form of a fish: just keep swimming! Not exactly Dory, but a beautiful finned friend nonetheless, we knew this incredible pendant needed to be ours when - a year after our first encounter and some regret at passing it by - we spotted her again at one of our favorite flea markets. She now holds pride of place on a strand of vintage faceted black glass, antique Czech-African coral flower glass, cut brass, and polished turquoise beads, all echoing the hues in the fish's incredibly-detailed hand-formed wire scales of cloisonné enamel. The fish is articulated, so it seems like she really is swimming along, a bit of cheering on to continue moving forward in life even when days are difficult or disappointing or the tide seems to change unexpectedly. (Or, perhaps on some days, to go with the flow so swimming isn't quite so challenging.) No matter what, this incredibly rare and beautifully-crafted fish is along for the swim, and the necklace is fastened at back at lengths ranging from 29 to 30.5" overall thanks to an adjustable 14 karat gold-over-brass toggle clasp.
