Toujours En Fleurs
Elva Fields
Stitched entirely by hand of sumptuous silk and once-golden threads, this five-petaled flower has been in our personal collection for a few years, intended for framing. The beautiful bloom hails from France and likely dates to the early-to-mid 1800s, maybe originally intended for a garment or headpiece. Here, we added a soft felt backing to its reverse and sewed a pair of small rings to allow it to be part of an entirely new style. Strung with matte-finished fossil coral in creamiest ivory with a hint of blush and tiny faceted pyrite (fool's gold) beads, it's an elegant-yet-youthful look that is ready for its next adventure with the belle of the ball (even if that's a soccer or lacrosse ball - we belles are multi-faceted women.) Necklace measures 17.5" length with gold-over-copper floral box clasp at back.
