Right on cue in these turbulent times, a pair of hand-carved mother-of-pearl doves, symbols of peace on Earth, fly gracefully at the side of rice pearl strands. The birds came from vintage brooches that are/were a beautiful souvenir from Bethlehem, and we removed their damaged pin backs to hand-wire them to the necklace. The pearls are a variety that grow small, like a grain of rice, with the most wonderful shimmer and irregular texture, and they bring such a serene beauty to the overall look. A gilt copper clasp fastens the necklace at back. Measures 18" length, shortest strand.
