From a customer's collection of Elva Fields necklaces that dates back to our earliest days in business, this may be one of the earliest Elvas yet to return to the studio as part of our Re-Vintage collection. (It pre-dates our website and our digital archives, and was likely purchased directly from one of our 2005 or 2006 trunk shows here in Louisville, just three years after our official founding.)
Though we didn't want to change anything about its original layout (we love the pair of vintage black resin roses, a pair of brooches) we made a few modifications to update and refresh the design. The faceted black tourmaline nugget beads are a rare find these days, and the addition of small brass beads between each allows for a more fluid drape of the strand while also protecting their finish and shape. We swapped out the old clasp for a more secure and polished gilt copper toggle, while also re-stringing the design to make sure it can continue to be enjoyed for at least 20 more years! Measuring 19.5" length, it is just as beautiful today as always.
