The beads came first--a discovery at market amongst wood beads of brightest colors.  We were drawn to the unvarnished, raw finish of these wooden discs, and when we found the brooch a few weeks later, it seemed a natural suggestion to bring them all together.  So, now at the side of the strands, is a vintage gilt metal and costume pearl brooch--detachable, so that you may wear the beads on their own, or pin the brooch elsewhere as desired.  Measures 18" in length with a gilt copper toggle at back.
