One can only imagine the treasures and stories this box may have held, and if the lovely detailing is any indication, it was undoubtedly something delightful.  A vintage Chinese laquered box is the centerpiece of this original style--the red pendant displaying painted gold flowers and details that are only magnified by the rich strands of polished black onyx. A gold vermeil clasp is at the back of this 17.5” style. (The box opens, but will remain tightly closed during wear.)
